Brownie works in a relaxed correct outline on the flat and has three uphill paces.

He has mainly competed in British Show Jumping with our team but has also taken part in Pony Club & School Teams as well and is an absolutely fantastic cross country pony, happily jumping all coloured, natural fences and water ditches etc., without any problems

Brownie delivers a lovely dressage test and is a true gentleman to hack out on his own or in company remaining totally calm, he is never strong.

He is good to shoe, clip, and for the dentist and he is fully up to date with vacs and physio

Very sadly for sale as Libby has now outgrown him and has also been concentrating on her GCSE’s

For us it is an extremely sad sale and an extra special competitive home is required for this talented little lad who would perfectly suit a child coming off 128’s or 138’s.

He would also make a top class pony club pony.

[Equihunter] Team Equihunter’s team rider Libby Newman enjoyed yet another successful day of competition, this time gaining a first place at Weston Lawns during the British Showjumping National Pony NAF 2* event.

The Staffordshire based Weston Lawns Equitation Centre was hosting British Showjumping teams from all over the UK attending the Junior Inter-Academy Team Finals Competition held on 20th & 21st of August.

On the afternoon of the 20th, the packed venue held a round of the NAF British Showjumping Horse and Pony Five Star Performance Awards programme at one and two star levels.

Riders are required to perform a round of Showjumping and then display control skills in a dressage style round, working to a floor plan that includes walk, trot on both reins, canter on both reins and halt. The Showjumping section is judged separately on style.

Libby was riding her talented Connemara Kinvara Silver Star and was placed first out of a very big class of young riders all keen to take the top slots.

The PONY Five Star Performance Awards are designed as a series of progressive standards which provide pony riders with a focus for their training, improved performance in the ring and improved stable management skills.

These awards start from instilling the correct basics and fundamentals through to encouraging young riders progression onto competitive pony riding through to supporting their step onto horses.

The aim of the programme is also to instil stable management knowledge, respect of the rules as well as ethics of sportsmanship and recognition of good performance over results. The awards also provide preparation for riders who wish to compete on Home Pony National teams and FEI International teams.

Libby was also part of Team Sussex who gained Team Bronze during the Junior Inter-Academy Team Finals Competition.

Well done to Libby and to all the Sussex British Showjumping Junior Academy team members for a lot of hard work and a truly fantastic two long days of heavy competition.

A packed venue saw lots of really warm weather this year, punctuated by a disappointing Saturday when the heavens opened from Midday through to the following morning.

This 4-day event is held in a fabulous Show Centre with fantastic views, amenities and a very large capacity for visitors.

[Equihunter] A very hot sunny Sunday afternoon saw a really successful day for Team Equihunter this Sunday. Our team rider Libby Newman came in first twice in the same afternoon. Well done to Libby.

Libby is placed first in two rounds. Photo: Team Equihunter

Libby is placed first in two rounds. Photo: Team Equihunter

With temperature soaring to 30 degrees locally and with no wind or clouds to provide any respite, jumping conditions were challenging for both horses and riders at the Felbridge Showground.

The young rider entered two classes, Class 6, the Blue Chip Feed Balancer Pony Newcomers 1st Round and then, Class 7, the Squib Demolition Pony Foxhunter 1st Round … and we are pleased to say that it was a very successful day when Libby gained a first place at both Double Firstheights.

When asked what was the most challenging part of the competition was Libby said that she was most concerned about the ponies getting overheated and made sure that there was plenty of water available for them straight after the competition came to a close.

A lot of hard work and training has gone into making this day such a success and that

It was a late finish on the day for both seniors and juniors as jumping was still progressing well into the early evening, but with the cloudless sky continuing late into the day, some riders took full advantage of the the slightly cooler evening air temperatures to continue with the more demanding competition classes.

[Equihunter] Saturday was somewhat how we like to remember English summers to be, warm, dry, a slight breeze and just a light dusting of cotton wool clouds in the sky above.

To make a good day a perfect one, our sponsored rider Libby Newman scored a first place in the British Showjumping Discovery Class.

We took the relatively short drive from the Felbridge Show Ground towards Brighton and set off in glorious dry and warm conditions. The traffic was kind too.

The Royal Leisure Centre is located in part of the South Downs National Park, with stunning views of the Sussex countryside. Look to the south of the outdoor arena, towards the rolling chalk hills of the Downs and you could clearly see the myriad of Para-gliders circling in the warm thermals above the famous Devil’s Dyke.

It was a a busy day with a very full schedule and The Royal Leisure Centre attracted a good attendance.

Well done to all those who were there on the day and a special mention to all those that were placed.
